1. When you first enter the Miscellaneous Cash Receipts option a Select A Checking Account window will appear listing all checking and cash accounts. Select the checking or cash account desired.
2. A Select An Option window will appear; select ADD.
3. In the Period field enter the accounting period to post the miscellaneous cash receipt to. The field will default to the current accounting period.
4. At the Date field, enter the date the miscellaneous cash was received. The field defaults to the current date.
5. Enter a brief description for the miscellaneous cash receipt in the Desc field.
6. At the Account field, enter the account number and cost center for the first line entry. F3 shows menu of possible options.
7. At the Amount ($) window, enter the dollar amount for the first account and cost center distribution.
8. Enter a brief description for the account and cost center distribution. The system will default the description from the description that was entered in the header.
9. Enter additional account number and cost centers as needed to full distribute the miscellaneous cash receipt. The dollar amounts entered per account number and cost center can be positive and negative. The total of the miscellaneous cash receipt must be a positive amount. As each account number and cost center amount is added to the miscellaneous cash receipt, the new balance and total deposit amounts are updated in the header.
10. Command options will appear to allow you to add another line item to this receipt, change or delete a line, update the receipt, or exit; select Update.
Important: Your work will not be saved unless you select Update.
11. When you update, note that a reference number is assigned to the receipt in the header. Press the space bar to continue.
12. You will return to a Select An Option window where you may exit the option, add another miscellaneous cash receipt, or view existing miscellaneous cash receipt.
